Earlier this year, city officials threatened to reduce Afrofest from 2 days to 1 single day. After receiving extensive backlash over social media and thought pieces, Afrofest was restored to 2 days of celebrating African music, food, crafts and fashion.
From July 9th to 10th, over 30,000 people came and showed their support for the 28th annual Afrofest celebration. As with previous years (2014 & 2015), we at Kuwala had an amazing time meeting all the very stylish individuals that attend the festival. Check out our Facebook album below:

We also shared a booth with other notable small businesses, like Bantu app, London Ivy Products, and Klozet Freak. Weeks have passed and we're still craving those delicious puff-puffs served with spicy jollof rice, well-seasoned chicken and fried plantain (mouth waters).
